Just a taste of what this country is in for if Rick Perry miraculously made it into the White House in 2012.

"You know thinking makes my head hurt. That ever happen to you?"
Courtesy of the Huffington Post:

Texas lawmakers cut sex ed from two six-month courses to a single unit of "abstinence only" education. But early indications showed that the program wasn't working. In fact, teens in almost all high school grades were having more sex after undergoing the abstinence only program. By 2007, Texas had the highest teen birth rate in the nation.

Nevertheless, the program continued. By 2009, 94 percent of Texas schools, which at the time were educating more than 3.7 million students, were giving no sex ed whatsoever beyond "abstinence only," a curriculum that includes emphasizing that birth control doesn't work.

Instead of providing fact-based information, the programs use fear and Jesus -- over-emphasizing the risks of sexually transmitted diseases leading to cervical cancer, radical hysterectomy and death, together with Christian morality.

One Texas public school district's sex ed handout is entitled "Things to Look for in a Mate:"

I. How they relate to God
A. Is Jesus their first love?
B. Trying to impress people or serve God?

Another public school district uses this:

Question: "What does the Bible say about sex before marriage/premarital sex?"

Answer: Along with all other kinds of sexual immorality, sex before marriage/premarital sex is repeatedly condemned in Scripture (Acts 15:20; Romans 1:29; 1 Corinthians 5:1; 6:13,18; 7:2; 10:8; 2 Corinthians 12:21; Galatians 5:19; Ephesians 5:3; Colossians 3:5; 1 Thessalonians 4:3; Jude 7).

The results? Teen pregnancy in Texas went up -- higher than before "abstinence only," and more than 50 percent higher than the national average. Even more troubling was that repeat teen pregnancy went up -- to the point that it, too, led the nation. It turns out that Texas kids thought that "if birth control doesn't work, why use it?"

But none of this seems to matter to Gov. Rick Perry. When confronted with the dismal statistics during an October 15, 2010 televised interview with Texas Tribune reporter Evan Smith, Perry's response was to reaffirm that "abstinence works."

The audience laughed and Smith pointed out the state's abysmal teen pregnancy rate. "It works," insisted Perry. "Maybe it's the way it's being taught, or the way it's being applied out there, but the fact of the matter is it is the best form of -- uh -- to teach our children." Smith asked for a statistic to suggest it works, and Perry replied that "I'm just going to tell you from my own personal life, abstinence works."

Like somebody suggested on an earlier thread, if Palin decides to pass on a Presidential run this time around, Perry has to be on her short list of those to endorse.

Of course we have already seen what a Rick Perry presidency would look like during the eight years that George W. Bush ran this country into the ground.  I said once before that a Rick Perry candidacy really concerned me, and it does, but I cannot imagine the American people not getting a raucous case of deja vu every time this poor man's version of Jethro Bodine opened up his mouth.

That alone should be enough to doom his chances.

At least that is the hope I am hanging my hat on.

Brief snippet from Dr. Drew's "interview" with Bristol Palin.

There is so MUCH bullshit in this small portion of the interview that it is jaw dropping.

For one Bristol did not "make a mistake." She virtually forced Levi to impregnate her, or risk losing her, and is now claiming that he "stole" her virginity and ruined her life. I believe that takes the definition of "bitch" to an entirely new level.

For another thing the arguemnt that getting pregnant took anything away from her is demonstrably untrue as NOBODY would have given her a second thought if she had not become the most famous teen mom in America.  Does anybody really thing she could have made the money she has, made the television appearances she has, and been asked to write a book like she has, if she had NOT gotten pregnant?

As for Levi, I just so happened to have been around during those initial days when Levi and Sherry, and Mercede were doing their television appearances, and the ONLY thing on their minds was figuring out some way to force the Palins to share Tripp with them and not cut him out of their lives.

Now something definitely happened after that, and whatever it was it was somehow orchestrated by Bristol and her mother for their nefarious purposes.  Bristol wanted to be seen as a "single mother" and that is what she got.

What she did to make Levi back off and let her drag his name through the mud, while continuing to withhold his son from him, confuses me to this day.  (And yes, I have considered that he may have been bought off.)

It is not shown in this clip but during the interview Dr. Drew tried multiple times to coax Bristol into sharing her TRUE feelings about certain incidents in her life and she absolutely refused to do anything except keep that huge plastic smile plastered to her face while continuing to spout the Palin party line about how wonderful, and close, her family is.

By the way Dr. Drew Pinsky is really only an MD and clearly does not have a great deal of skill in recognizing when he is being manipulated, which is a very important skill set for a real therapist to have in their possession.

Dr. Drew is a phony, but since Bristol is one too I guess this was an interview that was destined to take place.

Full Bristol Palin interview on the View.

It is interesting to me that Bristol walks out there  is NONE of the usual hugging and enthusiasm that you see with virtually EVERY other guest.  Instead she she walks right past Elizabeth, Sherri, and Joy to sit down next to Barbara who seems to be the ONLY person glad to see her there.

Then Barbara, no stranger to the plastic surgeon's knife herself, begins to compliment Bristol on her weight loss and her new look. Awkward!

However Tripp is an extremely cute little boy, and when they show him on screen it suddenly defrosts the other co-hosts, allowing yet another Palin to use their children to gain sympathy and acceptance.

Barbara then confronts Bristol concerning her story about having her virginity "stolen," asking her whether or not she gave consent. Bristol stumbles over her response, seeming to believe that "losing your virginity" is akin to losing your car keys, and then claiming that if she had not been drunk it would never have happened. (I did think it funny when Barbara asked her if she was "high." Especially since I have talked to a few ex-friends of hers that say she is not a virgin in that area either. So much for that "moral code.")

By the way Levi WAS at the house almost constantly, and essentially moved in there when her mother was on the campaign trail. I have talked to both Mercede and Sherry about this extensively and they both say he was there constantly for months. Once Tripp was born, that is when the relationship suddenly ended (yet again).

When Bristol admits she has asked Levi to hand over his parental rights, that part is accurate. Bristol seems determined to have the opportunity to refer to herself as a "single mom" (And earn money by doing so) and Levi has made that hard by constantly attempting to be a part of Tripp's life.  It seems much of the reason she wants him out of the picture is because his presence screws up her ability to attract pity for raising her son on her own, with no support. (I guess everybody is just supposed to ignore that her mother is a millionaire now.)

Now as for WHY Levi has not taken Bristol back to court for not allowing him his visitation rights, I cannot explain.  I will say that back when Levi was first going through this legal process with Bristol that I tried to get Tank and Rex to hire a REAL family lawyer to represent him, even going so far as to find one willing to look at the case for free, and possibly representing him pro bono.

They refused, and instead seem to have made the worst possible custody deal I have seen in a long time.

Yes, it has occurred to me that Team Levi was paid off, but I have no real proof of that. I have also wondered if Levi himself was paid off, but both Sherry and Sadie simply refuse to accept that possibility. And once again I have no real proof.

As for Tripp being Levi's child, I truly believe that he THINKS Tripp is his son, which is why he has his name tattooed on his bicep. I know that he never had a paternity test, which I also pushed for back in the day, so of course we can always speculate, but Sherry and Mercede went to the hospital on December 27, and believe they met their nephew/grandson on that day.

After this Levi portion, around the 4:37 mark, Whoopi asks Bristol if the criticism she has received since "writing" the book has bothered her, which gives Bristol the opportunity to trot out her newly discovered Christian talking points.

Next Barbara asks her about her new abstinence pledge to wait until she is married before having sex again.  Bristol ABSOLUTELY lies right to her face when asked about this. (Hey Bristol if you are reading this I saw the pictures, and I know you are lying.)

By the way I really believe that Bristol's dislike of Meghan McCain and her family stems from NOTHING more than simple jealousy.

Clearly Bristol has had her hand slapped for saying that Sarah has made her decision to run or not, and refuses to answer the question this time.

At the end I almost choked when Whoopi said that Bristol was being a good mother (I totally disagree with that), and when Bristol said that she welcomes Levi into Tripp's life all of the time (Nothing could be further from the truth). She has become a seamless a liar as her mother, and I truly fear for how Tripp will be raised by this family.

You know I really do not believe that Bristol, nor Sarah for that matter, are really able to perceive just how poorly they come across to the majority of Americans. Even the terrible book sales may not be enough to convince Bristol that she has defined herself as an untalented, money grubbing, hypocrite, who uses her child to line her pockets while disrespecting his father in the public square, and that MOST people find that extremely distasteful.

If things don't go her way she will simply blame it on the "haters," and walk away without learning anything, or growing as a person in any way.

Essentially, despite her often expressed denials as a teenager, she has now BECOME her mother. Which, by the way, is EXACTLY the fate that she deserves.

Bill Maher is NOT buying the moosepoop in Bristol Palin's new book.

This is VERY funny, and most of you will love it.

However for those of you unfamiliar with Bill Maher, or HBO for that matter, I should warn you that this clip contains adult content, so make sure the kids are not anywhere near your computer when you click "play."

Oh, and you probably should make sure your don't have a mouthful of coffee either.

The New York Post has more interesting bits of information about Bristol's book, many of which conflict with earlier reports. Update!

Courtesy of the New York Post:

Bristol Palin was so drunk on wine coolers the night she first slept with boyfriend Levi Johnston that she couldn’t recall losing her virginity at the tender age of 15 — and he was nowhere to be found the hazy morning after to refresh her memory.

"Levi wasn’t even there to help me process — or even confirm my greatly feared suspicions," she writes in a new revenge tome disguised as a memoir. "Instead of waking up in his arms, I awakened in a cold tent alone."

Despite the guilt she felt after that night she spent camping with her friends and boyfriend in the woods of Point MacKenzie 2006 she continued to have sex with the 16-year-old hockey-playing hunk. They used condoms, she claims, but she still got pregnant.

This sounds more like the version of their relationship that I have heard, except for the using condoms part, I have no idea where the idea about her taking the pill came from.

"I wasn’t drunk, it wasn’t an accident, and I did it on purpose," she writes about the subsequent sleepovers.

Yes she did it on purpose and was actively TRYING to get pregnant, a fact that she conveniently leaves out.

One of the first night back from the hospital, Palin found a text message in Johnston’s phone from his sister. It said, "She had fun and wants to hook up with you again."

I am not positive about this part of the story yet, but "hooking up" does not always mean to have sex with somebody. I know that Bristol was VERY jealous and may have taken it the wrong way.

He cheated on her openly, she claims in the book "Not Afraid of Life: My Journey So Far" (William Morrow) out Tuesday. Even coming home with hickeys on his neck from drunken, late-night encounters, she writes.

They were on and off again for the length of their baby’s toddler years. While Palin was raising Tripp, Johnston was posing for GQ and Playgirl using their own son as currency.

Does she mean to "use him as currency" like THIS?

Or this?

Or this?

And isn't Tripp featured prominently in her upcoming reality show as well?

Before her "Dancing with the Stars" debut, Bristol reunited with Johnston in July 2010, posing on the cover of US Weekly announcing their plans for marriage. As a result, her parents, who she said always disliked Johnston, cut her out of the reality TV show "Sarah Palin’s Alaska."

You know THIS part might be true, I did hear something similar. However she and Sarah clearly made up as Bristol WAS on the show more than a few times. And like all of the kids, she was paid for her contribution as well. (The Palins don't do ANYTHING without monetary compensation.)

That evening Johnston arrived with news.

"I might’ve gotten someone pregnant," he said.

The baby was due in two weeks. Later, she learned that Johnston named the baby Bentley, a name she had first wanted to name Tripp. This was the final straw, she writes.

I highly doubt that Levi has another child out there with anybody else, as Mercede would be spending ALL of her time with that baby.  Besides this whole thing was based on some bad reporting by the National Enquirer about Levi and Lanesia Garcia, and Sadie cleared all of it up way back in July of 2010.

By the way for those who are still clinging to the belief that Bristol and her mother are not getting along, take a gander at this portion.

For all the vitriol against her ex, Bristol goes soft on her mother, who is portrayed as a supportive and down-to-earth "cool" mom who stood by her even when her bad-boy babydaddy was harming the family’s image. That the former Alaska governor signed on to be Republican presidential candidate John McCain’s running mate without consulting her pregnant teenage daughter first is barely mentioned.

This entire book deal was put together by Sarah's lawyer, Thomas Van Flein, and trust me there was NEVER any chance that Bristol was going to reveal any truth, or expose any of her mother's lies.

BTW I have finally made contact with Mercede and she is getting ready to address the lies concerning her brother that have been revealed so far.  I don't know when they will be ready, as it takes her a long time to write her thoughts down, but I will provide a link as soon as it is up on her blog. So stay tuned.

Update: As somebody noted on another thread the Daily Beast interview with Bristol's ex Ben Barber has been removed. However you can still find a portion of it here.

It looks like Shushannah Walshe received her orders to clean up some of Bristol's mess from the Grizzled Mama, and like a good little Palin-bot she jumped when told how high.

Update 2: My friend Dennis found a working link to the Daily Beast story on the Wayback Machine.

"A gnat named Levi Johnston" is how Bristol refers to the father of her child in her upcoming book. Stay classy Palin family!

From Forbes:

Bristol Palin writes in her new book of losing her virginity to boyfriend Levi Johnston on a camping trip after getting drunk for the first time on too many wine coolers.

She awoke in her tent, alone, with no memories of what had happened as Johnston "talked with his friends on the other side of the canvas." She had vowed to wait until marriage. And she had lied to her parents about where she was going.

Palin, a 20-year-old single mother and the daughter of former Alaska Republican Gov. Sarah Palin, tells a story of "deception and disappointment" in the book, "Not Afraid of Life: My Journey So Far."

She calls him "the gnat named Levi Johnston," a self-involved slacker "who cheated on me about as frequently as he sharpened his hockey skates."

But Palin, self-described as a good girl and straight-A student, had been drawn to him and his bad-boy manner from the time they met in seventh grade.

When she confronted him about their sexual encounter, he said what she wanted to hear: They wouldn't do it again until they were married.

It didn't work out that way, though Palin notes that when she got pregnant she was on birth control pills prescribed to treat her cramps. Only by the eighth home pregnancy test, she writes, was she convinced of the positive results.

When she told her parents, they were accepting, not condemning, she writes, and focused on the future, particularly her continuing education.

Johnston's reaction wasn't so reassuring: "Better be a (bleeping) boy," he declared.

I don't know anything about Levi and Bristol's first time, nor do I want to, but I seriously doubt it was anything like this "date rape" scenario that Bristol is describing above.

As for the idea that  Bristol was against pre-marital sex, and that Levi took advantage of her innocence,  I refer you to the following video.

If you hoped that somebody else was the father when you found out you were pregnant, doesn't that sort of prove that you were cheating on the guy who IS the father?  And how does banging two guys at the same time fit in with that whole "good girl and straight-A student" image?

If you are wondering whose version to believe, let me just remind you that Bristol is the child of pathological liar, a girl who once said "abstinence is not realistic at all" right before becoming the spokesperson for abstinence,  and somebody who explained this..

dramatic change in her appearance on receiving "dental surgery."

By the way I would like to point out that the final draft of Sarah Palin's book "Going Rogue" was supposed to be 432 pages, but when it was published it was trimmed down by 19 entire pages. This is highly unusual, and I believe it was on those pages that Sarah Palin trashed Levi, but decided not to print them for fear of retaliation.  Somehow Levi has been neutered, and now, apparently, defenseless against this new attack coming from Bristol, ostensibly because he agreed not to talk smack about her or her mother in his clearly one sided custody agreement.

And before you ask, yes I am trying to get a quote from Mercede on this subject, and will put it up when I have spoken with her.
