As promised here is the update on the long awaited book about Sarah Palin's faked pregnancy, and the culpability of the American press for not revealing the deception.

Just smile Todd. Trust me, NOBODY will ever figure out what we did.
Thank you for patiently waiting through the weekend for this update.  With no further ado, I will let Fred fill you in on the book's progress and just when we can expect to see it in our local bookstores.

The book is nearly finished, and large sections of the book were turned into our publisher's legal department in late June. We are still shooting for a release date within the next four - six weeks.

However, there have been some hold-ups, and I'll share the status of that now. I noticed that after Gryphen kindly posted my request for title ideas back in May, many people asked if there were going to be any great new revelations in the book. Would we finally have the answer? At the time, the answer to that was - honestly - no.

My original hope for the book was to, first, present, in one place, an iron clad summary of the material that have been collected by multiple researchers that Sarah Palin's pregnancy with Trig was not as presented to the public in March and April of 2008. One way that the mainstream media has been able to ignore the story is that the bits and pieces have been scattered on multiple blogs and websites, and presented piecemeal. Each piece, then, is argued about and ignored individually. The weight of the story, however, when presented as a coherent whole, becomes overwhelming. Crafting this "coherent whole" was and continues to be a very difficult job. For example, there are actually about fifty separate photos from the time frame of March 4th through April 18th that are relevant to the story, and tough decisions had to be made about what material to put in the book and what to leave out, since we simply cannot use it all. The main market for the book is going to be those who know almost nothing of the story. Too little evidence and the story falls flat. Too much and the main point - that the media ignored terribly glaring inconsistencies in multiple areas - gets lost.

Secondly, the thrust of the book was to show how and why the mainstream media first during the campaign and second, since, have ignored the story

The "smoking gun" was the presentation of all the material together in such a way that the weight of the evidence made the idea that she had faked the pregnancy plausible beyond any reasonable doubt. As I am an attorney, the reasonable doubt angle is one that I explored a great deal in the chapters on the pregnancy evidence. This was, as I said, the original plan for the book.

Then, on June 10th, thousands of pages of Palin's emails were released. Within 24-48 hours, the Palin apologists were shouting, "There's nothing to see here!" and encouraging everyone to move on, even though no one could possibly have read even a fraction of the mail in that time.

One extraordinarily interesting discrepancy was pointed out by Gryphen in his blog on June 13th, when he shared the enormous disconnect of Palin sending herself a draft copy of the letter she intended to release to friends and family after the baby was born. This letter was sent six weeks before Palin's announced due date and eleven days before the child's announced "birth." Numerous other media outlets had already commented on the letter, most taking the position that it actually "proved" Sarah Palin was Trig's mother, with none noticing the eye-popping discrepancy that she referred to her pregnancy in the past tense and as "easy" when she still supposedly had six weeks to go.

This discovery led me to believe that there was "plenty to see here." I put any new writing and editing on hold as I, with the help of two very dedicated research helpers, have pored over emails. Our persistence has paid off. The bread crumbs are tiny (more like crumbs of crumbs), but the trail is there. No, of course there is no email stating, "I woke up this morning and decided to fake a pregnancy." If there were, it would have been found weeks ago and the story would be over.

But, as any good Catholic school-boy knows, there are sins of commission, and sins of omission.

Those who spent months (paid for by the state of Alaska) redacting Sarah Palin's emails likely pulled out a lot of "commissions," but they missed the omissions, because they could not possibly know what to look for. We did. I can now tell you with confidence that there will be new material in the book. After almost three years, there is more to find...

I'm sorry that all of you who have been waiting for the book will have to wait a bit longer. Prior to the release of the emails, I believed that an August 15th release date for the book was realistic. Now, I am working terribly hard to make this all come together by September 1.

Also, for all who are wondering about a title, we have made a decision, but are not yet releasing it.

Bristol Palin addresses her bizarre weight gain during DWTS in her book of excuses and outright fabrications. Oh THIS ought to be good!

I actually thought I would never revisit the DWTS weight gain issue again, but Bristol's ridiculous excuse for why she gained weight on the show is too stupid to leave unaddressed. (I can't believe the Palins think they can say such outlandish bullshit and never get called on it!)

Here is the actual page from her book:

I know it is small and hard to read, but I wanted to give you an actual screenshot in case anybody thought I might be exaggerating.  Below I have typed out the pertinent portions.

The ironic thing about this whole thing is that my critic was a self-described public advocate against bullying...as long as she agrees with the victims politics, I guess. After a prominent gay suicide, she went to the airwaves and criticized bullies...while at the same time publicly stating that a 135 pound girl like me was obese. But because I was  already active and fit, the show's schedule wasn't new to me. I did gain five pounds over the course of the show, but I was still thinner than a lot of girls my age.

Bristol continues in the next paragraph:

So let me address this issue head-on. I'm not skinny and I'm not fat. I'm a girl like everyone else who lives in this era of airbrushed photos who's trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle. And do you know what? I'm succeeding. Everyone talks about how strenuous the Dancing with the Stars workouts are, but they're nothing compared to any high school basketball practice. Though one contestant famously lost forty-one pounds, I have to assume it was because she was not too active beforehand. Because I was an active kid before I started, this show actually took my activity level down a notch. That meant I was not going to be seeing rapid weight loss. Which was fine with me.

Okay rather than simply pick apart what Bristol is saying I think I will let the pictures, which surely she knows are still available on the internet, do my talking for me.

First let me point out that the weight Bristol brought with her to DWTS was NOT the weight gain left over from having Tripp, as evidenced in his May, 2009 picture taken while she was promoting the Candies Foundation.

Bristol May 6, 2009

And as for her so-called athletic lifestyle before DWTS, Bristol did not attend regular school after the beginning of 2008, and was certainly not on any basketball teams since then. She went back for a short time and graduated from Wasilla High, on May 15, 2009. (Once again NOT participating in any organized sports during that time.)

And as evidence of her rather sedentary lifestyle (Or perhaps something else) here is Bristol in May of 2010.

Bristol May 5, 2010
So I think it is pretty well established that Bristol was NOT engaged in any rigorous sports activities directly before starting with DWTS.

Here is a picture of Bristol's very first rehearsal with Marka Ballas on September 2, 2010.

DWTS first rehearsal September 2, 2010.

I am not going to make any disparaging comments about her weight, other than to say that for a nineteen year old she is NOT in what I would consider athletic condition. Anyone disagree?

So taking this rather out of shape nineteen year old and having her compete on what has been called "more of a weight loss competition, than a dancing show," one would logically expect Ms. Palin to start toning up and dropping some lbs.

But instead this is what she looked like a twenty six days after she started working with Mark Ballas on the dance routines.

Bristol September 28, 2010.

And here she is in October.
Bristol in October, 2010.

And again in November, at the end of the show.

Bristol November 23, 2010.
Now I am not going to claim I am an expert on female weight loss, but I WAS a personal trainer and I can tell you that what these pictures demonstrate is physiologically impossible. Unless Bristol has some very dangerous thyroid gland problem, there is simply NO reasonable explanation for this weight gain while practicing dance steps for up to eight hours a day. None.

And by the way, just to spike the ball a little here, DWTS also had as contestants gymnast Shawn Johnson, football player Emmet Smith, figure skater Kristi Yamaguchi, basketball star Rick Fox, speed skater Apolo Ohno, just to name a few of the athletes that appeared in past seasons, and they ALL demonstrated an increase in their overall conditioning and a decrease in their weight. Are we to believe that THEY led sedentary lives before they started rehearsals?

In fact as far as anybody can tell, EVERY constestant on DWTS lost weight and got into much better shape due to the strenuous rehearsals involved, with ONE notable exception.

Bristol on the View November 24, 2010.
So Bristol perhaps you should have just left this topic alone, because bringing it up in this book is only going to have people talking about what they believe was the REAL cause of your bizarre weight gain on DWTS.

Bristol's book tour is a bust

The Mall of America was the venue where the most people showed up, and that was only because her mother was there.  Most of them were gawkers.

In Birmingham AL not many people showed up for that one either.

In Fredericksburg TX at Wal-Mart she left after 20 minutes.  You can read about the disaster here.  Thanks to I Tried Being Tasteful  for this eyewitness account.

In   Phoenix AZ at Barnes and Noble, well look for yourself:
What's with the scarf and jacket indoors?  She did the same thing in TX

Poor Tripp ignored by his mommy
Where's all the young people that are supposed to look up to Bristol?
You should read this funny thread concerning her book signing.

Full Bristol Palin interview on the View.

It is interesting to me that Bristol walks out there  is NONE of the usual hugging and enthusiasm that you see with virtually EVERY other guest.  Instead she she walks right past Elizabeth, Sherri, and Joy to sit down next to Barbara who seems to be the ONLY person glad to see her there.

Then Barbara, no stranger to the plastic surgeon's knife herself, begins to compliment Bristol on her weight loss and her new look. Awkward!

However Tripp is an extremely cute little boy, and when they show him on screen it suddenly defrosts the other co-hosts, allowing yet another Palin to use their children to gain sympathy and acceptance.

Barbara then confronts Bristol concerning her story about having her virginity "stolen," asking her whether or not she gave consent. Bristol stumbles over her response, seeming to believe that "losing your virginity" is akin to losing your car keys, and then claiming that if she had not been drunk it would never have happened. (I did think it funny when Barbara asked her if she was "high." Especially since I have talked to a few ex-friends of hers that say she is not a virgin in that area either. So much for that "moral code.")

By the way Levi WAS at the house almost constantly, and essentially moved in there when her mother was on the campaign trail. I have talked to both Mercede and Sherry about this extensively and they both say he was there constantly for months. Once Tripp was born, that is when the relationship suddenly ended (yet again).

When Bristol admits she has asked Levi to hand over his parental rights, that part is accurate. Bristol seems determined to have the opportunity to refer to herself as a "single mom" (And earn money by doing so) and Levi has made that hard by constantly attempting to be a part of Tripp's life.  It seems much of the reason she wants him out of the picture is because his presence screws up her ability to attract pity for raising her son on her own, with no support. (I guess everybody is just supposed to ignore that her mother is a millionaire now.)

Now as for WHY Levi has not taken Bristol back to court for not allowing him his visitation rights, I cannot explain.  I will say that back when Levi was first going through this legal process with Bristol that I tried to get Tank and Rex to hire a REAL family lawyer to represent him, even going so far as to find one willing to look at the case for free, and possibly representing him pro bono.

They refused, and instead seem to have made the worst possible custody deal I have seen in a long time.

Yes, it has occurred to me that Team Levi was paid off, but I have no real proof of that. I have also wondered if Levi himself was paid off, but both Sherry and Sadie simply refuse to accept that possibility. And once again I have no real proof.

As for Tripp being Levi's child, I truly believe that he THINKS Tripp is his son, which is why he has his name tattooed on his bicep. I know that he never had a paternity test, which I also pushed for back in the day, so of course we can always speculate, but Sherry and Mercede went to the hospital on December 27, and believe they met their nephew/grandson on that day.

After this Levi portion, around the 4:37 mark, Whoopi asks Bristol if the criticism she has received since "writing" the book has bothered her, which gives Bristol the opportunity to trot out her newly discovered Christian talking points.

Next Barbara asks her about her new abstinence pledge to wait until she is married before having sex again.  Bristol ABSOLUTELY lies right to her face when asked about this. (Hey Bristol if you are reading this I saw the pictures, and I know you are lying.)

By the way I really believe that Bristol's dislike of Meghan McCain and her family stems from NOTHING more than simple jealousy.

Clearly Bristol has had her hand slapped for saying that Sarah has made her decision to run or not, and refuses to answer the question this time.

At the end I almost choked when Whoopi said that Bristol was being a good mother (I totally disagree with that), and when Bristol said that she welcomes Levi into Tripp's life all of the time (Nothing could be further from the truth). She has become a seamless a liar as her mother, and I truly fear for how Tripp will be raised by this family.

You know I really do not believe that Bristol, nor Sarah for that matter, are really able to perceive just how poorly they come across to the majority of Americans. Even the terrible book sales may not be enough to convince Bristol that she has defined herself as an untalented, money grubbing, hypocrite, who uses her child to line her pockets while disrespecting his father in the public square, and that MOST people find that extremely distasteful.

If things don't go her way she will simply blame it on the "haters," and walk away without learning anything, or growing as a person in any way.

Essentially, despite her often expressed denials as a teenager, she has now BECOME her mother. Which, by the way, is EXACTLY the fate that she deserves.

Despite devastatingly bad sales Bristol continues her sad little book tour of lies.

Apparently Bristol will be in Birmingham, Alabama this next Tuesday.  This time it looks like she will be flying solo so that her mother can avoid the embarrassment of what happened at her LAST book signing..

However Bristol has proven that she does not need her mother to hold her hand while she trots out one lie after another. I imagine that the Grizzled Mama just beams with pride.

From the Birmingham News:

Bristol Palin was 17 and seven-months pregnant when first approached about writing a book.

"I said, ‘No, not right now,’" she says. "‘I’m just a kid. I don’t have much to write about.’ I hadn’t been able to look back on anything yet, and I really didn’t have anything to say."

"I figured the more honest and candid I can be in the book, the better. At the end of the day, it’s so more relatable to so many more people," says Palin, now 20. "I wasn’t going to hold back."

I'm sorry exactly WHAT has changed that makes this simpleton believe that her life is worth reading about now? And whatever she thought it was, I believe the dismal book sales are teaching her how wrong she was about that.

Palin’s calling from a hotel room in New York, and despite being interrupted a couple of times by her son, she’s more than happy to talk about her memoir. And she doesn’t back down when it comes to what she wrote about Johnston or Meghan McCain, daughter of Sarah Palin’s presidential running mate, John McCain.

Of Johnston, she doesn’t have much more to say about him past what she details in the book. There, he’s a cheating scoundrel who "stole" her virginity from her. She says she hasn’t spoken to Tripp’s father "in a long time."

"I actually have full physical custody of him," she says of Tripp. "Levi’s entitled to see Tripp. He has visitation rights, but he certainly doesn’t use them. It’s unfortunate, and I never, ever thought that the father of my child wouldn’t see his child as much as I hoped or wanted, but that’s just the way it is. I’m just thankful that I have an awesome dad and awesome brother that are awesome with Tripp."

Levi has been trying multiple times to see his son, and he gets blocked virtually every time.  I also understand that Bristol will not take his phone calls anymore which is undoubtedly WHY she has not heard from him in such a long time. (And to answer your question I have NO idea why he does not take her back to court.)

In "Not Afraid of Life," Palin recounts her distrust of Meghan McCain, whom, she writes, wore thousand-dollar dresses and constantly complained about her treatment.

"I feel like that was necessary to put in the book just because that totally shows the difference between us and between our families," Palin says. "We’re both politician’s children, but I think she was a lot more defined by it than I would ever be. I wrote in the book about how my mom wouldn’t let us ride first class when she was the governor. We didn’t have any perks when she was governor. We always had jobs. Meghan was the opposite of that."

Believe me, if Palin could have figured out some way to make the state of Alaska pay for her children's first class tickets, they would have NEVER flown coach again!

There is even more moosecrap in this interview but I have already addressed most of it before.

However on that front I have some very good news.

Tomorrow Mercede will post the first of many responses to the scurrilous claims that Bristol makes in her book.  I have read what Sadie has to say, and believe me the Fourth of July will DEFINITELY have some serious fireworks!

Finally, somebody who actually knows what happened will call that nasty little snot out on her lies.  And believe me I am going to make sure that EVERY news outlet is notified about it too!

Bristol Palin goes on the Christian Broadcasting Network to play the martyr. How is that NOT sacrilegious?

Let me warn you not to have anything heavy in your hand as you watch this video, because the chances of you wanting to smash your monitor to pieces with it are VERY high.

You know the more I see Bristol, the more I believe she is possessed by a she-demon.  A she-demon by the name of Sarah Palin, or as we refer to her in Alaska, "She whose name we dare not speak."

Look at the ways that she is channeling her mother.

Bald faced lying:

WG: You've recommitted yourself to abstinence until you're married. Are you going to practice what you preach?

BP: Yeah, absolutely. And I don't think it will be a difficult battle because I've seen the consequences of it. And it's not worth it. (Says the multimillionaire author, reality "star," and teen abstinence spokesperson.)

Playing the victim:

BP: I feel like people tried to break me down during that experience (DWTS). But that just gave me the fire in my gut to do better.

WG: You mean that people who were actually there competing with you were not friendly to you?

BP: Well, I think at first they saw me as, 'Oh, here's Bristol Palin. She's not that well known and she's not really in this Hollywood scene.' And so they didn't see me as competition. But as we progressed, I think they got a little bit upset. (Could that be because they were actually working to improve as dancers and you were being unfairly promoted through the efforts of your mother's winged monkeys?)

Playing the victim AND blaming the media:

WG: Michelle Obama just came out and thanked the media for being kind to her children. How can you explain the viciousness of the media against you and your family.

BP: I don't think I can pinpoint it or explain it. It's definitely biased. You know there's some rude people out there, but we have tough skin and we know what's right. (You know continuing to tell everybody that you have thick skin, right after you bitch about people being mean to you is not convincing anybody any more than continuing to refer to yourself as a virgin kept Levi from tapping that ass every time he got you into a damp tent, your aunt's spare bedroom, or an empty broom closet.)

Playing the victim AND pretending to be a Christian:

Bristol said the pain and loneliness of being a single mom and the heartache of the boy's father, Levi, not wanting to see his son, caused her to cry out to God.

BP: That night was so meaningful. And I'll remember it for the rest of my life. Because it was rock bottom. It was, okay, I'm done doing this by myself. I'm done trying to change Levi. I'm done with all this stuff. I need your help, God. (Perhaps God should have taught her how to retrieve the dozen or so daily voice messages from Levi begging to please let him see his son.)

Yep Bristol may be the slowest learner EVER when it comes to memorizing dance steps, or how to properly use birth control, or the dangers of too much plastic surgery.

But when it comes to learning the family tradition of faking toughness, while playing the victim, and charging moronic people for the pleasure of watching her do it, Bristol may in fact be a prodigy. (Well, an idiot savant anyhow.)

Like mother, like daughter. Only not! Updated!

Here is a composite showing Sarah Palin and her daughter Bristol both at 32 weeks pregnant.

As you can see Bristol is glowing with pride and seemingly bursting with the joy of impending childbirth.

As for Sarah...well...um..well...wait, is she really supposed to be 32 weeks pregnant there?

Yep, she sure is! (As a matter of fact eighteen days from the day that picture was taken she would "give birth," albeit a month or so early, to her fifth child.

Hmmm, well something is just not right here. Perhaps I am wrong about how far along Bristol is in that picture.  Let''s check. (Just hit the "click to look inside" icon at the top of Bristol's book to investigate for yourself.)

Nope, according to Bristol's very own book, that is definitely her at 32 weeks.

So here we have a teen mom, pregnant with her very first baby (Actually the jury is still out on that one.), looking at least twice as pregnant as her mother, who is supposedly just as far along with her FIFTH child.

Now I am just a guy, which renders me biologically predisposed to be completely ignorant about "girl stuff," but from what I understand women simply do NOT get smaller with each pregnancy.  In fact they tend to get much larger, much faster.

So seeing this comparison shot of Bristol and her mother side by side, certainly adds even more evidence to support the premise that Sarah Palin faked her last pregnancy, and is NOT the biological mother of Trig Paxson Van Palin.

Anybody care to disagree? And if so, please elaborate on your reasoning, because I am DYING to hear what you have left in your arsenal that could be used to defend this woman's version of events.

Update: Since so many people are asking for it, here is the picture of an obviously pregnant Sarah Palin during either her first or second pregnancy.

There is no date on this picture so there is no telling how far along Palin is, but I would venture to guess she is in her eighth or ninth month of pregnancy.
However she certainly did not get that big in just a handful of weeks like she claims she did in her last "pregnancy." And her belly in this photo looks VERY similar to the one that Bristol is sporting in the composite up above.

Don'tcha think?

Bristol is going to be signing her fake book today at the Mall of America

From the Mall of America in Bloomington MN

And guess who is going to be there to hold Bristol's hand?  Her mommy Sarah!  Geesh can't Bristol do anything without her mother horning in?  Or maybe Bristol knows she won't get many fans or people coming to protest so she is using mommy as a human shield.  Oh well.

I would love to drive up to Bloomington and protest myself, but I have an actual job unlike the two grifters. So Bristol and Sarah consider yourself lucky there.  Oh and here is a recent pic of Bristol.  She still hasn't lot the pregnancy weight from her 2nd or 3rd child.

And the chin still looks like hell.

On Monday Bristol went on GMA with Robin Roberts and did the only thing she knows how to do, trash Levi and anyone who isn't a Palin or Heath and lie.

Tuesday, June 28, 2011

Sadly I have seen WAY too many Bristol Palin videos today, but this one is the strangest.

I have watched this video about four times now, and there is something very wrong with how her face moves.  Is that the result of cheek implants, or is she just high? Anybody?

So besides the video there is also this article.  Here are some of her more bizarre answers.

On abstinence:

"I hate the word abstinence," she says. "My mom knows I hate that word, everyone knows I hate that word. People think that I'm just 'abstinence only, do not have sex.' No. If you're going to have sex, practice safe sex. But the best option to prevent teen pregnancy is to not have sex."

You know, not only does Bristol hate the WORD abstinence, she also hates the PRACTICE of abstinence.

On her jaw surgery:

In person, a double take is required to first recognize her. The fullness of adolescence in her face is gone, leaving her with a much more angular look.

The surgery has been fodder for the likes of Kathy Griffin and Bill Maher.

"Why do people care?" asks Palin. In the mirror, she says she can't tell much of a difference. "Do people care when someone gets braces or glasses? Honestly, I'm just thankful I have tough skin to deal with that kind of stuff."

She doesn't read blogs and says her critics will talk regardless of what she does. What you'll never see her do?

"Pose naked," she shoots back. "Never."

You know, not to be mean, but I don't think anybody is clamoring to have Bristol pose naked. That may be the one thing she will not have trouble abstaining from.

On her next hook up:

What she wants: "Someone with the same religious beliefs as me and someone who's a family man." But "I have no time to date anyone right now."

Unless of course they brought their own tent and ice chest stocked with wine coolers.

Afer all a Wasilla girl can only hold out so long ya know.

I so wanted to believe that Bristol was just the victim of her mother's poor decisions and that there was something redeemable about her character.  I was wrong to give her that much credit.

Bristol Palin on GMA: "My virginity was stolen!"

The idea that EITHER Bristol or her mother have a "really tough skin" is laugh out loud funny.

At least she backed off from accusing Levi of "raping" her. By the way she was NOT on birth control, and she and Levi not only planned to get pregnant, they had baby names picked out, and were purchasing items they would need when the baby arrived.

When Bristol says that Levi does not spend as much time with Tripp as "he is entitled to" that is exactly right.

But what she does NOT say is that he calls all of the time and is given one excuse after another as to why he can't spend time with his son.  And no I have NO idea why Levi does not take Bristol back to court, I wish I did.

Apparently he has been convinced by his lawyer that he does not have any control over this, which is not accurate.

Bristol is clearly still parroting the Palin family tower of lies, which she has to do in order to stay in her mother's good graces. And all of this talk about being a "close family" and that they were "thrown under the campaign bus" by the McCain people is just Sarah using her daughter to attack people she is too cowardly to attack on her own.  Hiding behind her children is obviously what Sarah believes makes her a "good mother."

Bristol lies just as easily, and as often as her mother, as evidenced by her defamatory attacks on Levi, her continued declaration that her obvious chin implant was the result of "corrective jaw surgery," and her pimping of the family mythology.

(If the video does not play for you then you can click here.)

Bill Maher is NOT buying the moosepoop in Bristol Palin's new book.

This is VERY funny, and most of you will love it.

However for those of you unfamiliar with Bill Maher, or HBO for that matter, I should warn you that this clip contains adult content, so make sure the kids are not anywhere near your computer when you click "play."

Oh, and you probably should make sure your don't have a mouthful of coffee either.

Rex Butler gives a half assed attempt to defend Levi

From the Alaska Dispatch

Bristol Palin is not telling the truth when she claims in a new book that her virginity was "stolen'' by boyfriend Levi Johnston, Johnston's attorney said Thursday.

In the just released book, "Not Afraid of Life: My Journey So Far,'' Palin -- the daughter of former Gov. Sarah Palin -- claims she drank so many wine coolers on the night in question that she has no recollection of events, and that she woke the next morning with "something obviously askew'' only to be told by a girlfriend that "you definitely had sex with Levi."

Johnston attorney Rex Butler disagreed with the part of the story that has Bristol so drunk she didn't know what was happening.

"That's obviously not true,'' he said.

Several websites have already raised the question of whether Johnston raped Bristol.

Alaska laws says that "an offender commits the crime of sexual assault in the first degree if...the offender engages in sexual penetration with a person who the offender knows is unaware that a sexual act is being committed."

Sexual assault in the first degree is what is commonly known as rape.

Bristol's book clearly paints her as being "unaware that a sexual act'' was being committed on the night she lost her virginity.

As she tells the story, the last thing she remembers is sitting by a campfire laughing with friends after consuming a lot of wine coolers. The next thing she remembers is waking up in a tent with Levi's empty sleeping bag next to hers and the sound of friends "outside the tent laughing,'' according to the book. She then texts a female friend, who comes to Bristol's tent to inform her she is no longer a virgin.

Butler, one of Alaska's better known criminal attorneys, admitted that if true the story sounds a lot like rape, but he said the story isn't true. And he seemed a little perplexed that Bristol, who had a child with Johnston, would be telling it.

"That's not a good thing for her son to digest on down the road,'' Butler said.

What Bristol's mother, Sarah, thinks of all this is unclear. So far she has only Tweeted, as is her style. Sarah's Twitter message said this:

"Bristol's Book: Shocking; Refreshing; Honest; INSPIRING! Perfect. Plus 'Not Afraid of Life' gives insight into how media can drive false narrative. Spot on! (& she's courageous to write what she wrote, warning about decisions/consequences in encouraging way, esp for teens!)"

It is unclear as what "shocking" references, or whether Sarah thinks Bristol's suggestion that losing ones virginity while being passed out drunk (or at least so drunk you've forgotten the evening) is part of a "warning about decisions/consequences in encouraging way, esp. for teens!"

Butler said that although Bristol lied about her sexual encounter with Levi, he doubts his client has much legal recourse. Johnston, who was injected into the Palin whirlwind after Sara decided to run for vice-president, is now a public figure, Butler said. As such, he couldn't win a defamation suit unless he could prove his ex-girlfriend's statements are malicious.

"I don't think anyone would buy that,'' Butler said. The legal bar there is a high one. To prove Bristol's statement malicious, Butler would have to demonstrate she is telling a story she knows to be false. All Bristol would need to demonstrate is that she is telling a story that is true to the best of her recollection.

On the other, if her story is documentable  -- if there are witnesses who can support the story as her book indicates -- Johnston could find himself the subject of a rape investigation. Alaska Gov. Sean Parnell, Palin's successor, has been a staunch advocate of a state crackdown on men who take advantage of women who are incapacitated. He this year advocated, according to the governor's website, that sentences for sex offenses be increased when there were "'aggravating factors,” including the defendant's knowledge that the victim had consumed drugs or alcohol, or a previous dating relationship with the victim."

The story Bristol is now telling about the loss of her virginity has never been told before. In previous interviews, she has at least hinted that she might have been a willing sexual partner, saying that abstinence from sex is "not realistic at all" for teenagers.

Bristol's premarital, teenage sex first became news during Sarah's run for vice-president alongside Arizona's John McCain. The McCain-Palin campaign at the time disclosed Bristol's pregnancy and portrayed her and Levi as two teenagers in love who were making plans to get married. Levi told the Associated Press that he and Bristol had been planning on getting married for a long time.

There was even talk of a possible White House wedding, but things did not go so well and by 2009, Levi and Bristol had split.

A year later, however, they announced in US Magazine that they once again planned to get married. This time over the objections of Sarah and her husband, Todd.

But that second engagement went bust, too. Since then, they have been on unfriendly terms. Levi is now writing his own book.

Levi you need to ditch Rex and get a better attorney.  If I was living in AK and an attorney I would represent you pro bono.   I seriously think Rex is on the Palin payroll being paid with Sarah Pac funds.

Bristol was not raped.  If she was why didn't she report it to the police?   You also don't black out on drinking too many wine coolers.  Unless he slipped her a roofie, then yes he did rape her.  Bristol has no credibility at all so I will call bullshit on the rape claim.

Is Sarah Palin a murderer?

Curtis Menard was a school mate and friend of Sarah and Todd's.  Sarah had a big crush on him back in Jr. High when he first moved to town.  Curtis ended up asking another girl to go steady.   However Sarah's crush on him never wavered.  She even wrote about him in Going Rogue:

“For nearly four decades our two families’ lives intertwined like flourishing vines, so much that Curtis Jr. even grew up to be my firstborn’s godfather". (p.24)

“Just before Track was born, Todd and I moved to a small apartment in Wasilla, next door to our good friend Curtis Menard, Jr., who by now was a dentist like his dad. Curtis was like a brother to me. We asked him to be Track’s godfather. Todd and I shared one car, and we loved our little life together, though with the Slope and fishing schedule we still didn’t see each other very much. I wanted another baby right away, so I was excited when I learned I was pregnant again.” (page 55)

In ""Trailblazer" Lorenzo Benet writes about a very heated argument Sarah and Curtis had one day about her parenting skills in 2001.  Shortly after Curtis died in a plane crash, which was caused by water contamination found in his gas tank at his home.  Lorenzo writes about the crash in great detail in his book.

Before Sarah finished her term as mayor, she named the famous hockey complex after Curtis.

There has been speculation that Curtis is the biological father of Track, Sarah's oldest son. Curtis lived in an apartment next door to Sarah and Todd and Todd would be gone for weeks at a time with his North Slope job and the fishing business...enough time for Sarah and Curtis to have a little hanky-panky.

Todd and Sarah married August 29,1988, Track was born April 20, 1989. (ironically Hitler's 100th birthday). So that means Track was conceived in July 1989 and Todd was gone most of that month. Track was a full term baby.

I wonder if Curtis threatened to blow the whistle on Track's paternity during that argument he and Sarah had, and Sarah did something to his gas tanks so his plane would crash.

Then there is Dar Miller.  Dar was a hospice nurse at Mat-Su Regional Care.  She died in a house fire in 2009.

Dar was from Wasilla and attended the same church as the Palins.  It has been speculated that Dar knew about Trig's real birth and parentage.  A month before the church Dar and the Palins attend also burned in a mysterious fire.  This same church also handles private adoptions.  And Sarah Palin has said she does not believe in coincidences.

Lawrence O'Donnell drives a stake through the heart of the idea that Sarah Palin has ANY intention of launching a Presidential campaign for 2012.

Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

So essentially Lawrence O'Donnell, and Jonathon Capehart, are simply pointing out what most of the media are not inclined to point out. Which is that Sarah Palin is no longer a viable politician, but instead simply a celebrity along the lines of a Lindsay Lohan. Only without the cocaine abuse and wasted talent.

And the reasons WHY the other "journalists" are loath to point this out, is because so long as they keep the possibility of a Palin Presidential run alive they can get more clicks on their websites, sell more subscriptions to their magazine, and attract more viewers to their cable "news" shows.

Which makes it even more interesting that Fox News so quickly jumped on this story, and reported it without ever even contacting Palin first (Since they are in fact the only news outlet with the capability to do so), to get her side of the story.

It kind of makes one wonder if the relationship between Fox News and Sarah Palin has not subtly changed somehow.

Or perhaps NOT so subtly changed.

Another excellent review of Geoffrey Dunn's book "The Lies of Sarah Palin."

From OpEd News:

Despite the title of the book, to his credit as a journalist, it must be said that this author tried vainly to give a balanced picture of Mrs. Palin's life and professional resume. However, it seemed that at every turn no matter how hard he tried, the facts of her life kept conspiring against a balanced view of her. On the good side of the ledger, he dutifully reported the reasons why the conservative kingmakers were all gushing over her. At first only the friendly conservative media were doing so, but then later on, the "big dog" powerbrokers inside the Republican Party took up the cause and eventually convinced John McCain that she was an "ideological rock star" worthy of being on the Republican ticket.

As the author repeatedly notes, at first glance and on paper, Palin "shows well," and did indeed seem to reflect the quintessential conservative tribal qualifications: a hockey mom who lived on a lake, ice fished, was a snowmobiler, a lily white beauty queen, who had helped her High School win the State basketball championship -- with roots in Idaho, and who was also tough and gutsy. Moreover, it was well known that she was rabidly pro-gun, pro-life, religiously fundamental, and a proponent of American exceptionalism. Along with this stellar conservative ideological resume, it did not hurt her cause at all that she was also (almost predictably) anti-gay, anti-tax, anti-black, and (even in Alaska) anti-Native American. In short, Mrs. Palin viewed herself (and was viewed by others, especially the conservative Republican powers that be) as coming from a different kind of America: the white sub-tribe of "real" Americans.

After a "quick and dirty" vetting process (that would later prove to have been disastrous), Palin was certified as "Grade A" republican material, prancing with the Republican "big dogs on the national stage as John McCain's Vice Presidential candidate. As it turns out, this would be the end of the good news in the book of Sarah Heath Palin. As McCain and others on the national scene would abruptly find out, Ms. Palin was a lot less than meets the eye. In due course, they would discover that she was a lying and deceiving politician as well as a vengeful and hypocritical human being and very much un-Christian like in her behavior -- a fact well known to Alaskans who had dealt with her well before Ms. Palin made her national debut.

This review is DEFINITELY worth the read, in fact it was so good it almost made me want to go back and read Geoffrey's wonderful book again.  And you know, I JUST now finished Bailey's book so you would think I needed a break.

I am very glad to see my friend getting some more attention.  In my opinion his book deserves to be read by EVERYONE with any interest in politics, Sarah Palin, or how the Republican party chooses their candidates.

The New York Post has more interesting bits of information about Bristol's book, many of which conflict with earlier reports. Update!

Courtesy of the New York Post:

Bristol Palin was so drunk on wine coolers the night she first slept with boyfriend Levi Johnston that she couldn’t recall losing her virginity at the tender age of 15 — and he was nowhere to be found the hazy morning after to refresh her memory.

"Levi wasn’t even there to help me process — or even confirm my greatly feared suspicions," she writes in a new revenge tome disguised as a memoir. "Instead of waking up in his arms, I awakened in a cold tent alone."

Despite the guilt she felt after that night she spent camping with her friends and boyfriend in the woods of Point MacKenzie 2006 she continued to have sex with the 16-year-old hockey-playing hunk. They used condoms, she claims, but she still got pregnant.

This sounds more like the version of their relationship that I have heard, except for the using condoms part, I have no idea where the idea about her taking the pill came from.

"I wasn’t drunk, it wasn’t an accident, and I did it on purpose," she writes about the subsequent sleepovers.

Yes she did it on purpose and was actively TRYING to get pregnant, a fact that she conveniently leaves out.

One of the first night back from the hospital, Palin found a text message in Johnston’s phone from his sister. It said, "She had fun and wants to hook up with you again."

I am not positive about this part of the story yet, but "hooking up" does not always mean to have sex with somebody. I know that Bristol was VERY jealous and may have taken it the wrong way.

He cheated on her openly, she claims in the book "Not Afraid of Life: My Journey So Far" (William Morrow) out Tuesday. Even coming home with hickeys on his neck from drunken, late-night encounters, she writes.

They were on and off again for the length of their baby’s toddler years. While Palin was raising Tripp, Johnston was posing for GQ and Playgirl using their own son as currency.

Does she mean to "use him as currency" like THIS?

Or this?

Or this?

And isn't Tripp featured prominently in her upcoming reality show as well?

Before her "Dancing with the Stars" debut, Bristol reunited with Johnston in July 2010, posing on the cover of US Weekly announcing their plans for marriage. As a result, her parents, who she said always disliked Johnston, cut her out of the reality TV show "Sarah Palin’s Alaska."

You know THIS part might be true, I did hear something similar. However she and Sarah clearly made up as Bristol WAS on the show more than a few times. And like all of the kids, she was paid for her contribution as well. (The Palins don't do ANYTHING without monetary compensation.)

That evening Johnston arrived with news.

"I might’ve gotten someone pregnant," he said.

The baby was due in two weeks. Later, she learned that Johnston named the baby Bentley, a name she had first wanted to name Tripp. This was the final straw, she writes.

I highly doubt that Levi has another child out there with anybody else, as Mercede would be spending ALL of her time with that baby.  Besides this whole thing was based on some bad reporting by the National Enquirer about Levi and Lanesia Garcia, and Sadie cleared all of it up way back in July of 2010.

By the way for those who are still clinging to the belief that Bristol and her mother are not getting along, take a gander at this portion.

For all the vitriol against her ex, Bristol goes soft on her mother, who is portrayed as a supportive and down-to-earth "cool" mom who stood by her even when her bad-boy babydaddy was harming the family’s image. That the former Alaska governor signed on to be Republican presidential candidate John McCain’s running mate without consulting her pregnant teenage daughter first is barely mentioned.

This entire book deal was put together by Sarah's lawyer, Thomas Van Flein, and trust me there was NEVER any chance that Bristol was going to reveal any truth, or expose any of her mother's lies.

BTW I have finally made contact with Mercede and she is getting ready to address the lies concerning her brother that have been revealed so far.  I don't know when they will be ready, as it takes her a long time to write her thoughts down, but I will provide a link as soon as it is up on her blog. So stay tuned.

Update: As somebody noted on another thread the Daily Beast interview with Bristol's ex Ben Barber has been removed. However you can still find a portion of it here.

It looks like Shushannah Walshe received her orders to clean up some of Bristol's mess from the Grizzled Mama, and like a good little Palin-bot she jumped when told how high.

Update 2: My friend Dennis found a working link to the Daily Beast story on the Wayback Machine.

All Michele Bachmann needs to do next is don a pair of Red Naughty Monkey Pumps and the transformation would be complete!

Courtesy of Media Decoder:

Representative Michele Bachmann of Minnesota has made a deal to publish her memoir, selling a book to Sentinel, a conservative imprint at Penguin Group USA, two people familiar with the negotiations said on Thursday.

Ms. Bachmann, a Tea Party favorite who announced her presidential candidacy during the Republican debate on Monday, has been shopping her memoir for weeks, meeting with several New York publishers to discuss a possible deal.

The book is tentatively expected to be released this fall. John Fund, a columnist for the Wall Street Journal, will assist with the writing of the book.

One person who saw Ms. Bachmann’s proposal said the book was largely biographical, an account of the formation of her political and economic ideas. Ms. Bachmann was “very impressive” in her meetings with publishers, winning over the skeptics in the room, the person said.

Look I know that people keep trying to poo poo the idea of Michele Bachmann being Sarah Palin's somewhat smarter sister, but come on!  All this woman needs is a husband who pimps out young women, a fake pregnancy, and a teen daughter who, after giving birth out of wedlock, was getting paid to talk about abstinence, and she would BE the Grizzled Mama!

By the way who buys these books? I mean after paying for Palin's bus tour, her new house in Arizona, and Bristol's brand new chin, aren't the Teabaggers just about bled dry by now?

Shannyn Moore is hosting the FDL Book Salon with Blind Allegiance co-author Jeanne Devon right now! Update!

Just click here, head on over and join the party!

You can still order your copy of Blind Allegiance by clicking here.

Update: Okay everybody hold off on condemning Frank over this supposed "donation to fight for parental consent, even for  incest victims."

Phil called me before he went over to FDL and said he thought it was mentioned in the back of Bailey's book, though HE had not yet seen it.  If it is I have not been able to find it so far.

He also said Frank mentioned it while being interviewed by Dana Loesch.  I just listened to the interview and (unless I missed it) there was absolutely no mention of this. (You can listen for yourself here.)

I also just received an e-mail from Jeanne Devin and she has never heard anything about this.

So before we all go off half cocked, let's make sure this information is accurate.  Right now Phil is the SOLE source of this information. I know that Frank is a supporter of parental consent, but I have NO concrete evidence that he is donating the proceeds of this book to that cause.

Update 2: I just heard back from Jeanne again.

Bailey has NO plans to donate any money to Pro-Life programs of any kind.

I have no idea why Phil made this accusation, but it has NO validity, and was NOT found in the two places that he identified such a statement could be found.

To repeat, this is a FALSE statement, and should not keep anyone from purchasing this book.

Good reviews so far on Geoffrey Dunn's book

I'm still waiting for my copy.  I got it ordered late and now it's on back order.  Ugh!
