Like a Herpes infection that is never really under control, Sarah Palin bursts back into view.
Get a load of this patented Palin moosecrap courtesy of the LA Times:
Palin said the timing of her visit was coincidental, that she had been invited to the fair for a couple years and was able to incorporate it into her "One Nation" bus tour that she has been sporadically conducting this summer. But she noted that it was important for candidates to spend time in the early-voting states.
"I am here as an invited guest of people who have asked me to come [to the fair] the last couple years, part of the 'One Nation Tour,' getting to highlight an all-Americana historical venue we have here at the state fair, but at the same time getting to learn a lot more about what's important to Iowa and that's helpful too," she said, after touring the cattle barn.
(Yes just like it was a "coincidence" when she showed up in New Hampshire as Romney announced the beginning of his campaign back in June.)
Palin said she did not plan on attending the Straw Poll.
"I don't want to step on anybody's toes, so we won't be in the state tomorrow," Palin said, smiling. "We'll already be on the bus heading out."
(Yeah "heading out" all the way back to Wasilla I would imagine. She has Piper with her, and Piper starts school on Tuesday. Plus let's face it NO camera crews, means NO Sarah Palin!)
Palin laughed and didn't answer when asked if supporters should write in her name at the contest at Iowa State University. Palin declined to say who her supporters should cast ballots for in her place, and said it is too early for her to decide who to support if she doesn't run.
"I'm a believer in ABO – Anybody But Obama," she said. "There's still a long time in this process to hear everybody's ideas, to more fully understand what their experience is before I would jump out at this early date and say I would support any of them over anybody else."
(Translation: "That SarahPAC golden goose is not done dropping eggs quite yet! I am going to keep right on playing the political prick tease until the donations run dry and the last reporter walks off in disgust. CHA-CHING, CHA-CHING, baby!")
Palin pledged to run a different kind of campaign if she jumps in.
"Each campaign that I've ever run in these 20 years of elected office has been kind of unconventional, right, Todd?" Palin said, turning to her husband. "I've always been outspent 2:1, 5:1, 10:1. I never won any polls heading into election night but usually won the election."
("Usually won the election?" Well I guess that explains Palin's time spent as Murkowski's Lt. Governor, and that she is currently serving as our Vice President. Oh, I guess "usually" actually translates into "occasionally.")
"It would be unconventional and very grass-roots, very grass-roots," she said. "I wouldn't be out there looking for hires out of that political bubble that seem to result in the same ideas, same old talking points, the things that Americans get so sick and tired of hearing and kind of suffering through. We want new! We want new energy, we want conviction and passion and candidness, even if through that candidates make mistakes."
You know I hate to speak for Americans, and don't think anyone else should either, but what I think they are looking for is less "conviction" and "passion," and more "sanity" and "intelligence." But hey, that's just me.
By the way it should come as no surprise to any of us that Palin has only been in Iowa for less than a day and has also stuck her high heeled foot in her mouth.
That's our Klondike Kardashian for you, if somebody says something stupid she has to rush over to double down on it.
By the way I really think my Herpes reference might actually be more than just a metaphor. I would pay big bucks to see somebody run up and rub Zovirex on her forehead just to see if she shriveled up and shrank from sight.
Now that would be worth the national coverage!

Jonathon Capehart has Sarah Palin's number.
Courtesy of the Washington Post:
Palin told her supporters via e-mail that her “One Nation Tour” bus would descend upon the Hawkeye State. The part of her missive that elicited side-eyes from me was this. “The heartland is perfect territory for more of the One Nation Tour as we put forth efforts to revitalize the fundamental restoration of America by highlighting our nation’s heart, history, and founding principles,” Palin wrote.
What, pray tell, are “efforts to revitalize the fundamental restoration of America”? Did I somehow miss her detailed plan to pay off the nation’s $14.3 trillion debt and create jobs for the growing ranks of the unemployed? Americans want solutions to the worst economy in their lifetimes. They are hungry for leaders who have the courage to present realistic plans to turn things around. But if some of those Americans are looking to Palin for said solutions, they are bound to starve.
Remember, no matter what she says or does, Palin is not running for president. The half-term governor of Alaska parlayed her 2008 vice presidential nomination into a bankroll-busting career as a best-selling author and reality-television star who is accountable to no one but herself for what she says and does. As a star, Palin is terrific. She’s a natural talent. And she is well aware of and comfortable in exercising her ability to steal other people’s spotlight. That she would give up that kind of power for the confines of the campaign trail is unfathomable.
Now why does that summation sound familiar?
Oh yeah, because THAT is pretty much what I have been saying all along.
And I have to say that with Bristol's new reality show, Mercede's Playboy interview, the birth of a new grandbaby raising embarrassing questions, and Levi and Joe's books about to hit the stands, I find it even less likely she will declare than I ever did in the past.
However, and I feel obligated to always add this caveat, this IS Sarah Palin, who might very well be willing to launch a Presidential campaign solely to prove her critics wrong.
Yes, she IS that petty.
However I have no idea who Palin can convince to accompany her on the campaign trail if she WERE to declare her candidacy. Piper starts school next Tuesday (Yes she is going to school, one of my sources saw her registering), Bristol is filming her reality show, Track has a new baby to care for (And has said he wants NOTHING to do with her political activities), Willow is completely uncooperative, and Trig is much too big, and much too fussy to take along for photo ops.
That leaves only Sarah's parents (And really WHO finds them interesting anymore?), and Todd (Who I imagine has it written into his contract that he only has to do a handful of these appearances each year).
Let's face it, Palin simply will not launch a campaign without some family member to use as a shield. That alone might be the determining factor that keeps her stomping around her Wasilla compound in frustration, rather than out on the campaign trail stumbling over reporter's questions and generally making an ass out of herself.

Sarah Palin throws out another crumb for her supporters.
![]() |
Who has two thumbs and is a big political prick tease? This girl! |
In the latest indication that her sights are still set on a presidential run, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has accepted an invitation to keynote a Tea Party rally in Waukee, Iowa, on Sept. 3, RealClearPolitics has learned.
The Labor Day weekend visit to the nation's first voting state comes after Palin indicated during an appearance on Fox News earlier this month that she would make her decision about whether to launch a campaign in August or September.
All signs now point to September as the month when Palin would throw her hat into the ring, as logistical concerns ranging from fundraising to getting her name on the ballot in various states would likely preclude further delay.
Many prominent political analysts and Republican operatives have expressed skepticism that Palin is seriously considering a presidential bid, since she has not taken many of the steps that candidates traditionally take before jumping into the race, such as signing early-state consultants, contacting key powerbrokers and boosting their travel schedules.
But Palin has a long history of shunning the Republican Party machinery and taking an unconventional approach to campaigns -- a mind-set that appears to have been in play throughout the past several months.
Jesus this is just getting more and more pathetic.
Has anybody else noticed that Palin does just the bare minimum to keep stringing her simple minded supporters along?
Everybody writes her off as a candidate, so she goes on a family vacation disguised as the start of a political campaign.
It looks like nobody gives two shits about her movie, so suddenly she decides to drag Todd out of the mothballs and show up in Iowa for the premiere.
People start pointing out that they have not seen her for awhile, so she does a perfunctory eight minute interview with Greta Van Susteren on a topic that she can barely understand.
So now pundits are saying that she has done NOTHING to give any indication that she is a serious candidate, and all of a sudden we hear that she is giving a keynote speech in Iowa.
And do you know what? The Palin-bots and political reporters will rise to the bait every single time!
Sad, but true.

What exactly is the message Sarah Palin is sending America with her Newsweek photo shoot? And is it the one she THINKS she is sending?
Finally what this country needs! A Presidential candidate they can masturbate to! |
Or perhaps this pose will make you want to pull your lever and vote for me. If you get my drift. |
Or how about a saucy, windblown look? I believe this is just how Ronald Reagan pushed his breasts out to save America. |
Come and get some boys...uh I mean get some conservative common sense principles to run this country. |
Or perhaps the small town mom/ public servant is more to your liking? I can fake that too! |
See? I am just like any Alaskan gal. I even just finished peeing in the fireweed. |
This is my best demure pose, though it makes me look constipated. But I bet you still want me don't you? To be your President I mean! |
I cannot believe that this woman believes that posing like a sex kitten is going to truly improve her political standing. Look I am a man, and believe me I know we can be idiots sometimes, but you would have to be a complete imbecile (who was just released from prison) for this to work on you.
Personally I am insulted. And if I were a woman, I would be doubly insulted.
The women's rights movement in this country worked for decades to FINALLY be taken seriously, and to receive equal treatment at their jobs along with their male co-workers. And this Playboy Playmate wannabe is destroying that hard work every time she portrays the female politician as a publicity seeking, dimwitted, bimbo.

This is just rude.
|
Palin was a no-show for supporters, celebrity-watchers and media waiting hours for her at the Civil War battlefield of Gettysburg on Monday, but her tour bus reportedly was spotted at a nearby hotel, making it likely she would appear in public Tuesday.
Palin, the Republican vice presidential candidate in 2008, is on a tour of historic sites on the East Coast -- fueling speculation she might be testing the waters for a run at the presidency in 2012.
But the former Alaska governor isn't advising the media of her itinerary, leaving supporters as well as reporters guessing where she will appear next.
Several hundred people gathered on a hot, sunny day for a glimpse of the woman who supporters are hoping will inject some life into a slow-moving race for the Republican nomination to take on President Barack Obama next year.
Some of those gathered at Gettysburg were puzzled by the goal of her tour, which seemed designed to attract public attention despite a lack of information.
"In a way it's cool. In a way it's, 'Whaa?'" said John Hower, a baker who drove for three hours from Berwick, Pennsylvania, with two friends to see Palin. "She's trying to avoid the media. But I'd like to see the bus. We're, like, where's this bus?"
"I'm disappointed. Yeah, I would have liked to have seen her," said Sharon Danielski, who left after a nine-hour vigil.
It is one thing to play the prick tease with the media, but these people are innocent victims who might actually be uninformed and low functioning enough to support her candidacy. (Yeah I tried to be nice, but seriously people buy a clue!)
However if she keeps this kind of thing up, she might start chipping away at her base of support, one disappointed paint eater at a time.
Of course if she HAD shown up, like she did earlier at Gettysburg, all they would get to see is one badly sunburned, poorly dressed grandmother, with a bored little girl in tow, and a mouthful of lies and word salad to dispense.
You know if she REALLY did not want to "disrupt people on their trips and on their vacations, and make it chaotic for these good folks" perhaps she might consider leaving the ostentatious bus in a parking lot someplace and visiting the historic landmarks like every other American tourist. Or can't SarahPAC justify paying for it that way?
