Personally I believe that ANY parent that subjects their child to these insultingly inaccurate "history" lessons should be charged with child abuse.
I love how O'Donnell ponders whether or not Huckabee will identify the religion of EVERY historical figure that's discussed in the tapes. I think I already know the answer to that one.
I am not ashamed to admit that I literally had tears streaming down my face as I watched this segment.
Lawrence O'Donnell's passion in bringing this, and other important, stories to our attention should earn him this country's undying gratitude, and Matt Damon? Well in my humble opinion from this day forward Matt Damon should be considered a national treasure.
He did his mother, his teachers, and his country proud.
As a divorced father myself, who gladly paid my child support payments on time and in full, I share O'Donnell's disgust with Rep. Joe Walsh.
I cannot tell you how angry it makes me to hear politicians use children to make a political point while refusing to support policies, or social programs, that they so desperately need.
How could we possibly trust a politician who does not even care about his OWN kids enough to make sure they are well cared for, to help protect ours?
So essentially Lawrence O'Donnell, and Jonathon Capehart, are simply pointing out what most of the media are not inclined to point out. Which is that Sarah Palin is no longer a viable politician, but instead simply a celebrity along the lines of a Lindsay Lohan. Only without the cocaine abuse and wasted talent.
And the reasons WHY the other "journalists" are loath to point this out, is because so long as they keep the possibility of a Palin Presidential run alive they can get more clicks on their websites, sell more subscriptions to their magazine, and attract more viewers to their cable "news" shows.
Which makes it even more interesting that Fox News so quickly jumped on this story, and reported it without ever even contacting Palin first (Since they are in fact the only news outlet with the capability to do so), to get her side of the story.
It kind of makes one wonder if the relationship between Fox News and Sarah Palin has not subtly changed somehow.
In case anybody is asking for my opinion, here it is: "Yes, I think she did indeed violate the law. However she is ALWAYS violating the law so that should come as no surprise to anybody."
I first have to say how sad I am about how this turned out.
I had kind of hoped that Wiener would be vindicated, even though I had long since decided that he was simply not being honest.
I desperately did NOT want Breitbart to have successfully destroyed this man's career, which is mostly the reason why I did not report on it.
It is somewhat reminiscent of how I reacted to news about the John Edwards love child and adultery story.
I did not blog about the story for a long time because I did not want to do anything which might have caused his wife, Elizabeth Edwards, any more pain. However since that story broke I have had a conversation with the National Enquirer reporter who broke that story and told him thanks for what he did.
It was a story which needed to be told, regardless of how much we may have at one time supported and admired John Edwards. And believe me, I really did admire him very much.
But you see that is the difference between how I deal with learning that the people I support are flawed human beings, and how the people who support Sarah Palin, and others in the GOP, deal with information which makes THEM look less than competent or capable.
I would NEVER consider trying to change history, or creating some alternative universe where my candidate's answers were correct, in order to defend somebody that I supported. I would carefully consider what I had learned and then, based on that, decide if they were still worth supporting.
Which is why I have to say, that I really don't support Rep.Weiner's decision to remain in Congress. I think he should resign. Immediately.
I like the guy, I understand that what he did SHOULD really be just between he and his wife, but he lied. And even after he had EVERY reason to come clean he lied, and lied, and lied.
And for me, that is a deal breaker.
That, of course, is only my opinion. If yours is different, feel free to disagree with me.
I think she could easily take on Michele Bachmann, Sarah Palin, and Glenn Beck without even breaking a sweat.
I have said it before, but it bears repeating, with this group of young people soon to take over the reins of responsibility in this country, I am filled with confidence that America's best days are still to come.
I have to admit he makes some very pertinent points.
And the statements from Fox News, also make it seem that she has told them that she is not running: Fox News is not taking contributor Sarah Palin off its payroll despite moves that suggest she may be gearing up for a presidential run.
"We are not changing Sarah Palin's status," Bill Shine, Executive Vice President of programming for Fox News Channel, told CBS News in a statement. Palin earns $1 million per year as a commentator on Fox News.
Of course she is a well known liar. But would she actually DARE lie to Fox News? Yeah, probably.
Now I don't like to disagree with Lawrence O'Donnell, because is far more experienced and connected to reliable sources than I am, but I have to say I DO believe that she is, at the very least, willing to start a very temporary campaign.
Like O'Donnell, I also do not think she will run for President, nor do I think she will push her candidacy far enough to risk being ridiculed for a poor showing in a GOP debate, but I do think she will start a faux candidacy in order to not disappoint her supporters, and to guarantee that she can continue to grift from them for many more years into the future.
So yes she will launch a "campaign." But if you blink you just might miss it, because I can guarantee the Quitter Queen, will live up to that nickname just as soon as she is sure she has been in the primary long enough to hook the most gullible members of the Republican party. As soon as she is convinced these poor pathetic paint eaters will continue to send her money as she pretends to consider a run in 2016, she will come up with some trumped up family crisis and quit.
Because you see she has no desire to EVER work again, and being the President of the United States is very, very hard work. How anybody could possibly imagine that she would seriously consider taking that job is beyond me.
